## Equally Wet Pow

Pow 7

A Marching Strip

John White

3/1/18

2. Visual representation

Rows of tiles - 63

Tiles per - 90

Total tiles - 5,670

Special tiles needed - 324

Process:

To solve this pow, I created a 63 by 90 square (not in the picture above) and found out how many tiles it would take to stair step their way to the other corner of the court yard.

Solution:

The amount of special tiles in order to complete the courtyard falls in at about 324 special tiles.

Evaluation:

I would call this a decent POW. I tried many different methods but couldn't seem to find an absolute answer. With this being said, I would not be surprised if my answer is wrong, it could be unlike my other methods.

Self assessment:

For this pow I would say I deserve about an A. Although I am not fully confident if I have the correct answer, I do know that I put a lot of work into finding the right method. I tried many different processes to try and find the correct amount of tiles. Therefore, I am advocating for a higher grade.

I thought that my independent research project turned out very well. I really liked finding the amount of possibilities you could put into a rubix cube. Overall it turned out to be a good project. The only thing that was difficult when working on my project was finding the possible options there are in a rubix cube due to the complexity of the math involved. In all honesty, I would not change anything about this project, especially because we were able to choose what we did for the project. I would say that overall I learned and improved my multiple step math problem skills.

throughout this year in math, the goals I set were mostly achieved. I would definitely say that I am satisfied with my performance in math this year. Because I was able to learn and understand most of the math we did, I would say that my confidence in math class has definitely risen. I would say that most of the time, I was able to balance math out with my other classes. There were only a few times when math content outdid some of the content I had to do in other classes. All in all, I feel ready and prepared for math 4 next year and am hoping to finish strong.
